streitfeld projektraum
The streitfeld projektraum is an initiative of Genius Loci e.V., based in the Streitfeld studio building of the KunstWohnWerke cooperative. In many ways, the project space functions as a double shop window for the Streitfeld artists’ house. We see ourselves as an experimental platform for visual art, music, literature, media, and design, highlighting intersections within selected forms of cultural production. Wherever possible, we connect these with readings, concerts, performances, workshops, lectures, and other presentation formats.
Our guiding principles are openness to new ideas, artistic quality, hybrid forms of cultural production, as well as dialogue and networking on a regional, national, and international level. Our programme does not emerge from the curatorial vision of individual curators, but through exchange with artists from near and far, who contribute their ideas, shape them in terms of content, and realise them together with the board of Genius Loci e.V. and the project space’s volunteer team. With our programme, we address a wide range of audiences from the Berg am Laim district as well as those interested in art and culture across Munich.
Events, Public Visibility, Newsletter, Network
We present our annual programme on our website. Since the Covid pandemic, we have documented each exhibition there with a short film and have cooperated with “Kulturschneise,” the cultural channel in Berg am Laim, which features clips from our documentary films. We promote our events through printed invitation cards, regular newsletters, announcements on our website and social media accounts, as well as through intensive press work and outreach to multipliers.
We are part of “[ off ] spaces munich,” the network of independent and non-commercial art spaces in Munich.
Genius Loci e.V.
The non-profit association for the promotion of art and culture has existed since 2005 and is registered under VR 19055 at the Munich Local Court. It is a member of the KunstWohnWerke eG cooperative and develops and implements the programme of the streitfeld projektraum together with a volunteer team.

Founders: David John Flynn, Beatriz von Eidlitz, Lucia Dellefant, and Siegfried Siegel were the board members of Genius Loci e.V. when the projektraum began operating in 2012.
